We would consider getting our 45 pound Polish Sheep Dog on a chartered flight to transport her from Boston to Aruba and back to Boston (NOT in the cargo or baggage area). We are planning on going for a month. Where would I get specific information on Chartered Flights for dogs? Specifically, which Companies would do this for us and what would be the cost to transport the dog from Boston to Aruba and back to Boston? (see your comment below). Is an adult required to go on the Chartered Flight with the dog? If yes, what would be the cost for the dog and one adult? Thanks, Greg "We checked charter flights [for our dog]. Cheapest was $6000 and 5 hours in a Twin Cessna. |

I phoned GWV International (800-225-5498) and TNT (800-339-8812) Charter Vacation airlines out of Boston to see if they could accomodate your dog and they said no. Have you inquired of the major airlines if you can purchase a seat for the dog? |

Unfortunately, Marley weighs 45 pounds and the airlines will only allow dogs under about 22 pounds to sit in the main or first class cabin. I contacted American Airlines Charters to see if they would let her "sit up front" and what they would charge. |

Hi greg1949... I travelled with my cat on an airplane in May. He got to tide in the main cabin with me for $ 130.00 return. The reason airlines place weight restrictions is because the pet's carrier must fit under the seat in front during take off and landing. Good luck finding a flight for Marley. |
