I mean to say, why does google not list all the backward links to my
website, www.leapstrategy.com, which I know to exist, such as
www.eugeniapardue.com? or http://www.pearmentor.org/blossoms/. is
there anyway to notify google?

Hi there,

The only problem is that Google's backward links function does not
work how we would expect it to. The general rule of thumb, as deduced
by curious webmasters, is links will only be displayed if they have a
PageRank of 4 or more. It has been guessed backward links that Google
displays are the only ones it uses for determining your sites
PageRank. If that is the case, then the rules governing which links
are listed are going to be more complicated than looking at relative
PR.

In your case, the one page that shows up as a backward link is
http://www.teamyacht.com/index_web.html - and it has a PR4

http://www.pearmentor.org/blossoms/ has a PR3

http://www.eugeniapardue.com has a PR4. I can think of two reasons why
it isn't listed. Firstly, the PageRank displayed by the Google ToolBar
is only an estimate, and PageRank isn't just whole numbers. It could
be that her site has a PR of 4.2 and the cut-off for displaying
backward links could be 4.3

The other possibility is that her site is duplicated at Geocities:
http://www.geocities.com/eugeniapardue/
... and Google may have diluted the importance of the link because of
this.

At WebMasterWorld there are literally hundreds of discussions about
how the backward links function works.

Almost always someone chimes in with the PR4 factoid:

"Remember that Google only lists pages with a pr4 or higher in the
backlink"
http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum3/15535-7-15.htm

"Google shows only backlinks with a pr4 or higher."
http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum3/10968.htm

"pages with a PR of 3 or less are no longer showing up as backlinks"
http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum3/11374.htm

The problem is that no-one except for Google search engineers knows
for sure how it works, we can only guess.

If Google has indexed the pages that link to your site, then Google
knows of the links. However, whenever someone links to your site, it
is a good policy to submit the URL to Google, just in case:

Whether Google assigns importance to links from pages with a low
PageRank is anyone's guess. All you can do is strive to get more links
from sites with high PageRank, which is the probably the most
difficult task for any webmaster looking for good search engine
results.
