I came across this on the Homestagers.co.uk website: "Any tips on how to modernise unattractive terracotta tiles on our interior window sills? Kari from The South asked: We live in a 1950s house with interior window sills consisting of not-very-attractive terra-cotta tiles. Any tips as to how to disguise or replace them easily before selling? The red terra-cotta tile paint you can buy is such an awful colour, I think it would make matters even worse. Otherwise our house has been greatly modernised and is light and airy. HOME STAGERS TIP Tina Jesson Principal Home Stagers Consultant, gave this tip Hi Kari, A difficult problem. I would use a white tile primer and then a paint and treat them as though they where ceramic. It would certainly make the windows appear lighter. Alternatively, they could be replaced with a traditional wooden sills. Hope that helps, Tina" http://www.homestagers.co.uk/tips/advice/qa/question.php/79?PHPSESSID=05babfc698ad9ba4276ea1970b28e395 |
