Researcher often avoid questions that ask for "ALL" of something
because one simply cannot claim that his/her answer includes every
single one of them in the US. With that in mind, what answer, short of
"ALL" orgnanizations would be acceptable as an answer?

Tutuzdad makes a good point. In addition, keep in mind that some
fraternities may not be "official" on a college campus, so may be hard
to find. Finally, there are thousands of universities in the United
States. At $125, you're offering only a few pennies for research into
each college or university in the USA. May I suggest that you break up
this question into smaller "bites"?

Hi!
I would like to agree with my fellow researchers tutuztad and ephraim.
An "ALL" list is indeed an enourmous challenge and might also be
impossible to accomplish plus their are thousands out there that could
be impractical to find a good listing. Another problem with this is
the name and contact information of the current presidents. It will
be quite a tedious task to inquire and check each and every
organization we find for information on its current presidents.
My Proposal:
I was able to find a listing of hundreds of Fraternities and
Sororities in the US with contact numbers. In light of the situation
described above by myself and my fellow researchers, would this be
acceptable as an answer?
Thanks! :)

I have found a site that lists some information about fraterneties and
sororities in "chunks" of information. You have to access the info
one state at a time -- for Colorado fraternities, it looks like this:
1) Denver Kappa Alpha Psi Scholarship Foundation
Denver, CO 80205
2) KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
AURORA, CO 80016
CHARITY, UNITY, FRATERNITY & PATRIOTISM
3) ALPHA OMEGA INTERNATIONAL DENTAL FRATERNITY INC
GOLDEN, CO 80401
4) Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity
GOLDEN, CO 80401
5) Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity
BOULDER, CO 80309
6) AMERICAN LEGION
DENVER, CO 80211
MILITARY FRATERNITY/ASSOCIATION
7) Clarence F. Holmes-Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Memorial Scholarship
Fund
Denver, CO 80237
8) Delta Phi Alpha National Honorary German Fraternity
GREELEY, CO 80639
9) Delta Phi Alpha National Honorary German Fraternity Beta Delta
Chapter
Boulder, CO 80309
10) Phi Theta Kappa Fraternity
DENVER, CO 80204
11) PHI THETA KAPPA FRATERNITY
LAKEWOOD, CO 80228
12) Phi Theta Kappa Fraternity
LA JUNTA, CO 81050
13) Phi Theta Kappa Fraternity
LITTLETON, CO 80120
14) Phi Theta Kappa Fraternity
RANGELY, CO 81648
15) Phi Theta Kappa Fraternity
GLENWOOD SPGS, CO 81601
16) Phi Theta Kappa Fraternity
TRINIDAD, CO 81082
17) Phi Theta Kappa Fraternity
COLORADO SPGS, CO 80906
18) Phi Theta Kappa Fraternity
STERLING, CO 80751
19) Phi Theta Kappa Fraternity
FORT MORGAN, CO 80701
20) PI MU EPSILON FRATERNITY
USAF, CO 80840
21) Pi Mu Epsilon Fraternity, Inc. Colo Delta
GREELEY, CO 80639
22) Pi Tau Sigma Fraternity
Boulder, CO 80309
23) Pi Tau Sigma Fraternity
Fort Collins, CO 80523
24) XI PI CHAPTER-OMEGA PSI PHI FRATERNITY UPLIFT FOUNDATION INC
COLORADO SPGS, CO 80918
If this information would be of interest, I can post an answer to your
question that would provide instructions about accessing fraternity
and sorority lists in all the states. However, you would ultimately
have to access the information yourself, one state at a time.
Let me know your thoughts on this.

Hi joe,
With the limited time left on your question, I can provide you with an
alphabetical list of universities in the US with their
fraternities/sororities. I can then give you the available website of
the respective fraternities/sororities.
This data would be extracted from the Greek Pages website.
Let me know if this interests you.

i do not want just a few names and i do not want web links
|
Greetings, joe770!
The last I knew, there were around 48 fraternities and sororities and
about 100 *sanctioned* campus organizations at the University from
which I have my degree. According to one website, there are more than
1,500 colleges and universities in the U.S. (and that's just the
*accredited* ones, there are hundreds more of non-accredited colleges
and universities).
http://www.utexas.edu/world/univ/alpha
Multiply 148 times 1,500, and you get a conservative estimate of
222,000 such organizations! You can see why a list of ALL of them is
such a tall order.
Lists such as you are requesting ARE available from companies who
specialize in such things. For instance, from one such company, a list
containing name, primary contact name, address and phone number (but
not e-mail) for 62,000+ organizations with Standard Industrial
Classification (SIC) code 8641, which includes fraternities,
sororities, and campus organizations, would cost $6,338.86.
http://www.acculeads.com
If you can narrow your request down to one university, one state, all
the branches of one organization, all organizations having to do with
a specific subject (such as Adult Students, swimmers, etc), or some
other more narrow criteria, it might be possible for a Researcher to
provide you with what you need.
