I'm looking for the headline of the New York Daily Mirror on Dec. 6, 1933. I'm relatively certain it has some connection to the prohibition being repealed the day before, but the question of finding the actual headline from this particular newspaper has stumped both myself and my local librarians. Any help in finding out exactly what it said would be great. |

According to the WorldCat library catalog the "New York Public Library Res Library" holds the microfilm for the "New York Daily Mirror" for the years 1924-1957. If you already know that date you have to, depending on where you are located, request a photocopy of the headline in question. Or you can call the library and if you are fortunate, get a librarian to look it up for you. The "res" I believe stands for one of their research libraries. Information about the library can be found at: http://www.nypl.org/ |
