Question ID: 252856
I'd like to know where a good place to look for queen sized or larger
blankets I can buy for 100 dollars and under, online, and in what
different materials (preferably nothing scratchy). As far as blanket
color/pattern goes, I'd like something that's on the darker spectrum
of green, red, blue, grey, or black, with an interesting/intricate or
beautiful pattern on it. Nothing flowery, more along the lines of an
oriental, native american, intricate geometric or fractal pattern,
night sky, or other motifs along the same line. The answer I'm looking
for would contain a good selection of links to vendors and specific
products that meet the above criterion. If you have any questions or
clarifications, I'll try to answer them within 2 hours, unless I'm
sleeping :) Also, the more broad the collection, the better. And if
you feel that the price offered is not fair, feel free to let me know,
I would gladly add a generous tip to a good answer.

You've done an excellent job thus far, leader :) At the end of this
post I'll give a list of links to collections or specific blankets out
of what you've shown me that I really enjoy so that you have a better
idea as to my taste. My apologies, I should probably have made it
clear what I'll be using the blanket for :) I have a window that is
about 6 ft long and 3 ft tall that currently has no curtain, so I was
planning on buying a blanket that will fold over the curtain rod and
just about (or more than) completely covers it. It should also be
comfortable enough to sleep on/in as well as beautiful enough to use
as a wall hanging when I move. It would be a minimum of 6x6 ft, though
larger and not perfectly square are both acceptable, as long as each
side is at least 6 ft. Would it be possible for you to do a more
restricted search with the specific size constraint that is of a
similar style/pattern as the links below? And if I've missed any
blankets in the links below that fit my criteria, please point that
out. Thanks in advance! :)

Also, the blanket in the center picture (which I can't seem to find in
the product section) that is black cream-ish on

This specific set of blankets is absolutely beautiful. Why, oh why
can't they be a little bit bigger? :)

Both the Zarapes link you provided and the one for Mexican blankets
are beautiful, but again they are wicked and made them too small

expensive side)

Clarification of Answer by leader-ga on 07 Sep 2003 12:37 PDT
Hello again:

Thanks for the clarification. I was able to locate a few carpets.
Please have a look at the following web links and let me know what do
you think. It seems that if there is a blanket available that is 6' by
6' and is according to your taste, the blanket is a little bit
expansive ($120-$140). I found a couple of other websites with the
kind of blankets you are looking for but could only find blankets that
are 7' by 5' OR 6' by 8'. Very few of them were 6 by 6 or over. If you
don't like them, I will continue my search.

REMARKS: Although the carpets are on expensive side but serape blanket
is $97 and meet your specifications.

REMARKS: This is also a nice design for a blanket with a descent
price.

http://www.blanketwarehouse.com/blankets.htm
REMARKS: The Apex, Ruidoso & Westin at the bottom of the collection
might be a choice.

http://www.santafedecorating.com/101.html
REMARKS: Very nice blankets but just a little short. The one with the
type of size you are looking for is WOOL.

http://www.oldwesterndecor.com/owblankets.html
REMARKS: The 4th, 5th & 6th set meets your requirements and is very
cheap.

http://www.shadesofsouthwest.com/blankets.htm
REMARKS: Mexican Zapotec oversize blankets just a little short at 66”
by 90”.

Thanks Again.

Sincerely,
leader-ga.

I bought one of these blankets a while back. It's beautiful, even
after going through many wash and dry cycles, and although it is light
in weight, it is very warm. Soft, too, not scratchy like wool.
