Question ID: 252889
I recently purchased a new keypad for my Motorola T720 (GSM.)
Unfortunately, this keypad did not come with installation
instructions, and the dealer was clueless. Motorola also did not have
information to give me. I am looking for installation instructions,
including what tools I may need to perform this installation. Thank
you!

mjarvuk-ga:

Thank you for your Question regarding installation instructions for a
new keypad for your Motorola T720 GSM wireless phone.

I was able to find a set of detailed, illustrated instructions online
that should help you with your need. The steps you should follow are
Steps 1 through 7, and Steps 15 through 20, of the instructions found
at the following website:

-------------------

"Installation for Motorola T720 T720i Full Housing"

http://www.daydeal.com/mott720/installmott720pcv.htm

-------------------

The instructions are accompanied by high-resolution pictures that
should help you along the way. To paraphrase the instructions:

1. Remove the decorative faceplate, battery cover, battery and
antenna.

2. Use a Torx #6 screwdriver to remove the four screws from the back.

3. Carefully pop the sides of the back housing off the phone using
your fingernail to release the back housing.

4. Remove the metal plate.

5. Disconnect the connector at the top of the main circuit board (see
illustration on website).

6. Remove the main circuit board, being careful to not lose the small
rubber button.

7. Remove the keypad.

15.Install new keypad, main circuit board (ensure rubber button is
still in place), metal plate.

16. Install back housing, following the detailed warnings and
instructions on the website.

17. Install the four Torx screws.

18. Install the antenna, battery and battery cover.

19. Confirm operation of phone.

20. Install faceplate.

---------------------

I hope that this Answer helps you, and good luck with the
installation!

Regards,
