Question ID: 253110
have new 512/80gb computer, with WinXP,
running windows media player and win dvd. one for music and other for
video. burnt off two songs embedded as part of win XP onto discs.
Computer seems to have designated them AUSEQO1 and AUSEQO2. Am not
sure if the second last is a zero or the letter "O". The two songs are
somewhere on the "C" drive. When
attemting to play DVD movies, media player pops up and causes DVD to
jerk along like a drunken sailor. Also the sound component shudders
along. Have tried
to access the exact file and delete but with no luck. But on the same
comp., when I change to other user[ wifes separate setup]and using
same WinDVD program, media stays out of it and DVD`s play O.K. I need
to scrub these two but still retain media player. Can you help

Still having problems. Was advised by family member to download
Windows Media version 9, the latest, in the hope that it would
overtcome the problem of media and Win DVD conflicting by both trying
to handle the sound. This cured my wife`s loadings and I can now
successfully play DVD`s without Media interfering but Media still
interferes with my loading, and always showing the file AVSEQ. It no
longer shows AVSEQ01 or AVSEQ02. Is the cure going to cost me more.
thanks.

It sounds like you have a conflict in the start-up menu compared with
your wife's settings. You should be able to simply turn off media
player before playing the DVD or you can eliminate it from the start
menu. Do a atare-and-compare between your settings and your wife's.
Finsing the sile should also be easy via a search. If you're not sure
of the exact file name, put an asterisk (*) before the extension type.
So, if it's an mp3 you could search for files *.mp3 . The asterisk
acts as a wild card and you should see all of your MP3 files as a
result of the search. It should then be a simple matter of scrolling
the results to find the files inquestion and then delete them.

to drtandem1-ga. tried your solution and found full file name. it is
D:\MPEG2\AUSEQ01.MPG There were 96 files on my comp, all music, and I
sent the lot to the rubbish bin, one by one to solve the problem..At
first, it seemed to have solved it, but somehow the problem came back.
And this time it is affecting my wife`s setup. before, I was able to
play the DVD`s on her settings with no juddering, but now it judders
on both settings. Following all this, I had modem problems with not
being able to connect. had to un-install then re-install modem to get
this far. Might I have to un-install media player totally or what.
Looking forward to your suggestions. Somehow I am not clicking right.
