1. I want to upgrade my Sony Clie handheld from PEG S series to some
other, more davanced, version. Is this possible? How? Do I need
special software? Are there limitations?

2. I want two handheld Clies, a desktop and a laptop to be able to
sync. their data. Is this possible? How?

Sorry, On question No. 1., by "upgrade" I mean buying a new version of
Clie: I want to be sure that the data on my older version will
transfer automatically to the newer version with no hitches (I'm not
using Microsft's Excel).

On question No. 2,("I want two handheld Clies, a desktop and a laptop
to be able to sync. their data. Is this possible? How?") you replied,
"As long as you use the same username within Palm Desktop on both
desktop PC and laptop the data will sync with each other."

This is not quite correct: I've used the same username on the desktop
and
the laptop, but the laptop version refuses to function properly. For
example, it will not search for an address. Moreover, I spoke of "two
handheld Clies, a desktop and and laptop" - and using the same
username on all just does not work. Do you have any more complete
information?

Thanks,

Baruch Maoz

1. Upgrading the Clie would require a new ROM chip within the unit,
this holds the PalmOS. There does not appear to be any upgrade
available that I have been able to find. I saw on Sony's support site
in the past a upgrade available from the PEG-N710C series to PEG-N760C
a few years ago, but they have discontinued that upgrade and that was
the only upgrade they offered.

2. As long as you use the same username within Palm Desktop on both
desktop PC and laptop the data will sync with each other.
