outlook - Emails never get out of outbox & into sent items box

In outlook, my emails get sent but never move from outbox to sent items. So the emails in outbox say" this messsage has not been sent" but in actuallity they have been delivered but never make it out of the outbox. Can someone help me with the settings to make this happen. |
