Greetings Tonyy:

I've been researching your answer and I feel I need some clarification
before I continue - I want to make sure I'm on the right track for
your needs.

In the CRM program that you seek, are you looking to purchase an
"over-the-counter" package or will you consider a custom package?
Also, what is the nature of your business? I ask because a company
called Digital Alchemy at http://www.data2gold.com/ has what appears
to be an excellent CRM line for lodging business - see
http://www.hotel-online.com/News/PR2003_2nd/Jun03_GrandBohemian.html -
and you might be able to work further with them to customize a program
to your exact needs.

Any details and expectations you can share with me will be of great
help.

Best regards,
journalist-ga

Hello tonyy-ga,

Could you please tell me more about what criteria you want to use for
determining who are the “best” CRM software vendors? Here is a chart
from CFO.COM that shows the criteria they use for specifying CRM
Software providers.

http://www.cfo.com/charts/1,5520,BS|12|527|4|2,00.html

As you can see, there are hundreds of vendors. What kind of
information will you need and how many vendors do you want? Are you
really asking for which ONE is the best? What featured and benefits
are most important to you? In what kind of setting will you deploy
this software?

The more information you can share, the more likely that I will be
able to get you what you’re looking for.

I look forward to your clarification.

Greetings Tonyy:

I've examined many links and I believe the first two choices below
will adequately fill your current needs and leave room for
customer-base growth. It's difficult to know your exact needs and a
CRM consultant would probably better identify the minute details of
your business.

I located the first two names from an article at Computer Business
Review http://www.cbronline.com/research_centres/71d47a2a48601d5f80256d350047c73e
"Pivotal Software, with revenue of around $50 million, focuses on
offering CRM applications that reside on the Windows 2000/NT platform.
Another competitor with a Windows 2000/NT focus is privately-held
Saratoga Systems, which had revenue last year of around $30 million."

Pivotal
"Pivotal's approach is to identify more specific, niche vertical
segments that have a clear set of common needs and develop
precisely-tailored offerings to give these companies a head start with
their CRM initiative."

Pivotal SoftWare CRM
"Vancouver, BC - August 28, 2003 - Pivotal Corporation (Nasdaq: PVTL;
TSX: PVT), the leading provider of customer relationship management
(CRM) software for mid-sized enterprises, today announced that CRM
magazine has named Pivotal a ‘CRM Market Leader’. CRM Magazine
presented Pivotal with the award at DCI’s Customer Relationships
Management Conference & Exposition this week in New York."
"When it comes to CRM, the mid-market is the sweet spot – it’s the
segment in which researchers predict the most growth," said Ginger
Conlon, editor-in-chief, CRM Magazine. "With major customer wins, the
release of Pivotal 5, and the introduction of several new vertical
products, Pivotal continues to demonstrate its success in this market.
CRM Magazine congratulates Pivotal on this outstanding achievement."

"Best" is a relative word because your needs are specific and that is
why I have researched more than one option for your review. I believe
all of these packages have great CRM benefits but only after you
examine them in detail will you know which one suits your company's
requirements.

Should you require clarification of any of the links I have provided,
please request it before rating and closing the question, and I will
be happy to respond.

Best regards,
journalist-ga
