I am looking for a store (online) that can provide all the parts I
need for my Alienware Area51m laptop. I need:
24x10x24 CD-RW / 8x DVD combo drive
2x 512mb ddr pc2700 SO-DIMM
Secondary Li-Ion battery
40GB 5400rpm hard drive

I would like all of these parts to be 100% compatable with the laptop.

Have you tried inquiring at Alienware itself to know if it has spare
components for the Area51m?

The parts you mentioned are pretty standard and are most likely
compatible for your laptop, except for the secondary battery which you
may have to get from a separate source. Do you have a specific budget
for your requirements? Are you willing to travel to get the parts if
necessary? Do you have any other requirement aside from the
compatibility factor?

I have contacted Alienware and they have never responded to any of my
questions. I did not buy this laptop directly from Alienware. I know
that most parts are fairly common and I have found the parts I need, I
am just a little confused when it comes to the connections. Would the
laptop require a special adapter for any of the standard connections?

If these are standard connections and/or there are no mention of any
special connections/adapters for the parts you acquired, the parts
won't require any other thing. That means, the parts are plug and
play. You can simply connect them to their appropriate slots, etc.
