I have an HP External DVD Writer, model dvd200e. The dvd tray will not open. The tray auto shut as I was inserting a dvd, pinching the dvd half in and half out. I was able to pull the dvd out but the tray will not open now. How do I get the tray open? | |

Hi Jmhines123, The mechanism may have been jammed inside the drive when you forced the drive tray to open and close, causing the drive from not opening. Using the tiny hole in the tray end of your DVD drive, you can manually eject the drive tray. The principle described in step seven of this link... HP Pavilion Desktop PCs - Opening a Stuck CD, CDRW, or DVD Drive Door http://www.hp.com/cposupport/personal_computing/support_doc/bph07168.html ...is the same principle you'll use on any other cd drive with that tiny hole. Thanks for being a loyal user of Google Answers. Best regards, Feilong |
