I am looking for information regarding the application process to
obtain Major League Baseball (MLB) Licenses for products. I already
have the application from MLB and want to learn more about the
following:

1. Are there suggestions (other than those provided by MLB) or a
guide/book for filling out this application?

2. What information is available about how licenses are granted with
respect to the product category? Specifically, I'm interested in
obtaining licensing for accessory products. Can you find anything
about costs associated with licenses for different products?

3. Does MLB grant any exclusive licenses? Is it normal that MLB will
grant licenses to different companies making the same unique products
(i.e. obviously that is the case with T-shirts and hats, but what
about accessories and novelties?)

4. Is it possible for a start-up company to acquire MLB licensing? The
application is geared almost entirely to existing companies with
detailed past sales, finacials, etc. Have any start-up companies ever
obtained MLB licensing? If so, which ones?
