I never had a problem with this TV until recently. The picture gets
very fuzzy and sound becomes very distorted. Sometimes both audio and
video come back with excellent quality, but they don't last. I am sure
I have bad solder joints, but where ? Or maybe I have bad capacitors ?
I have very good electronics background and would like to fix this
myself. I need some tips from experienced techs. Thanks

I have a few questions for you.

Does this happen only when the TV is getting its signal from its own
tuner, or does it occur also when you play DVDs or videotapes?

When you say that the picture gets "fuzzy," do you mean that it is
out-of-focus, or that there is a lot of static or "snow"?

Are you aware of anyone living near you who is an amateur radio
operator ("Ham" radio)?

OK, sorry I am unable to test and see if this severe distortion also
occurs when I use my A/V jacks. The TV is at my mom's house and she
lives far from me.
By "fuzzy" I mean severe interference where the picture starts to
break up really bad and the audio is reduced to unrecognizable noises.
There will be no picture at all, only a screen flickering with black
and white. In that sense I would say no not blurry. I do not have any
Ham Operators living near me. THanks
