Hi there,

I have recently applied for three different positions at Google two
weeks ago and have yet to get a response. I'm quite interested in
working there, and have been told by people that sometimes it helps to
be persistent when going for a job, to a) show the possible employer
that you're interested, and b) help cement your name into the memory
of the possible employer as they are going through a pile of resumes.

Anyhow, I'm basically trying to get ahold of the contact info for an
HR person at google to maybe shoot the breeze with for a while, or
hoping that someone from Google happens upon this and decides to reply
to me. If anyone could be of service it would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks much.

Hello noquarter-ga,

Thank you for your interest in working at Google and thanks for your
question to Google Answers.

The best way, believe it or not, to get a job at Google is to send
your resume to:

jobs@google.com

The HR staff here at Google read through all the resumes received via
this email address by hand (well, if not by hand, by human eye rather
than by a computer). Sometimes it takes a couple of weeks for them to
get through the backlog, but they do ultimately get to all of them.
Then, after reading your resume, if there is a fit, they will get in
touch with you.

Sorry that there isn't much more we can suggest to you at this time
other than this.

Thanks for the prompt response, I'm glad that someone actually paid
attention to what I had to ask. All I can do is hope and keep my
fingers crossed that they actually think my resume might be worth
looking into further.

Thanks again.

Are they any tips for applying to become a researcher? I know I could
do a really good job, but the problem is having to write a paragraph
that will get me past step 1.

I submitted something yesterday but haven't heard anything (other than
the autoresponse).

Whoops, I mean are THERE any tips for applying to become a researcher.

I'm sure lack of typos is one criterion. :)
