Actually, if it's only one address, you might want to post it here,
and a researcher may be able to find the ownership information for
you. But if that's not practical, just let us know what city and
state/province you are in.

Howdy

Many commercial / investment properties are held in the name of an LLC
or partnership that is formed for the (only) purpose of owning that
property. That is, they are NOT owned by an operating company of the
type that is listed in a telephone directory.

The public records generally show both the owners' names and
addresses. Those addresses may be those of of the owners' accountant,
attorney, broker, etc. Or they may be the addresses of the owners'
residences or businesses - - whatever the latter may be.

Thus, we need the telephone number of the street address. Because
those addresses are sometimes large office buildings, we need to know
the telephone #s by suite or office numbers.

We hope this clarification helps. If we can periodically access such
directories, it would be very useful to us.

We need to look up these numbers in (relatively small) bunches. These
owners are often located in a different city or state than the
property.

Many thanks

JTH

There's a database that will do the trick, but there's also a catch.
The database is sold to libraries and schools, but not to the general
public. However, many libraries do have access to it...my library is
among them, and I even have on-line remote access to the data.

I ran a local address of a restaurant through the database and came
out with the following information:

Name: GUAPOS MEXICAN CUISINE
Employees: 20 to 49
Address: 4515 WISCONSIN AVE NW
City: WASHINGTON, DC 20016-4619
Est Sales: $500,000 to $1 MILLION
Contact: HECTOR RENICON (MANAGER)
Credit Rating Code*: VERY GOOD
County: DIST COLUMBIA
ABI Number: 801341082
MSA (Metro Area): WASHINGTON, DC-MD-VA-WV
Phone: (202) 686-3588
Fax**: (202) 686-5490
URL: GUAPOSRESTAURANT.COM

If this is of interest, I can post information about the database as
an answer to your question. If you're lucky, your local library may
have access to it.

Actually...the record covers the owner of the restaurant, but not
necessarily the property itself. In rereading your question, it seems
its the latter you're interested in. If so, you'll need a different
sort of database.

Let me know for certain which type of data you're interested in, and
I'll see what I can do.

Ladies and gentlemen:

Continuing with our earlier exchange of messages (you probably need
all of them to understand the entire situation). You advised us to
talk to the reference desk at the local public library, which we did.
They gave us several possibilities including Infospace and Ultimate
White pages, plus the AT&T and Quest on-line directory. We checked
several different street address in their reference directory. None of
them had any of the information we were seeking.

We periodically need phone numbers of LLC's or limited partnerships
that own various properties that we are tracking. These owners are
often out of state.

We then went to the reference desk and they put in touch with
ReferenceUSA, which is only available thru public libraries, but can
be accessed on line. Again we tried to look up various LLCs and
partnerships that own property and we found only 2 out of 7.

I also accessed D&B web site and had an operator check two LLC's for
me. They had the names of both in their files, but did not have phone
numbers listed for them.

What we need is a reverse directory that is keyed to street addresses,
most of which are business locations. In the case of large office
buildings, we need to be able to track those phone numbers by suite or
room number.

If you could help us, we would be most grateful.
