your are running on your Mac. OSX or ?

That should be "you are running" above.

Hello Dingus,

Boy - this is a tough one. That's because...
 - SANE (http://www.sane-project.org/) does not support it
    http://www.sane-project.org/lists/sane-mfgs-cvs.html#VISIONEER
 - several commercial products don't cover it
 - neither Visioneer nor ScanSoft (creator of PaperPort) provide OS X
drivers.

If you have an OS 9.2 CD, I can walk you through updating your system
to run both "classic" and OS X. In that case, you should be able to
use PaperPort and the older drivers.

Let me know if this would help.

I think i should be able to find on OS 9 cd. And if not, i think i
can still run applications in classic environment. Either way, i
would appreciate anything you can find. It doesn't have to be for OS
X

Hello Dingus,

I did some more searching, but it appears you are out of luck.
Visioneer quit building Mac compatible products in 1998 or so,
provided PaperPort updates for other products, but support for the
6200 is Windows only. I'm sorry I could not find a suitable answer -
perhaps someone else can.

I checked the Visoneer website and there is no Mac driver. Perhaps
there may be 3rd-party ones...

Also, "new Mac" probably means OS X 10.2. It is unlikely that the new
Mac will be running Mac OS 9, and extremely unlikely that it's running
OS X 10.1.

The trouble with Visioneer scanners is that after they offer perhaps
one update, they then say: "Oh, you have a new computer with updated
software? Well, trade in your old Visioneer and we'll let you buy a
new one...cuz we aren't updating software/drivers anymore." So, there
may not be a driver available anywhere. :(

I got the paperport viewer 5.6 from someone who got paperport with
thier hp scanner and its works with panther 10.34 great. It actually
does the stuff the paperport page viewer does which is a lot more than
the viewer. It was dated 2002 so they had already ported it to ox.
So when I scan with strobe pro to destop, the viewer automatically
launches the classic destop. Not so bad now.
