I was wondering if there were any websites that will sell people a few
gallons of liquid nitrogen online. I'm currently doing a study project
that requires the use of it, and I'm unable to find a company that is
willing to supply it to me. Should I continue to use the phonebook, or
is there an easier way? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've had experience with liquid nitrogen in a biology lab, and it's
usually supplied in fairly substantial cylinders -- I seem to remember
them being about 4 feet tall.

You might want to call around to local universities -- SUNY Purchase,
for instance -- to see if anyone in the science department that uses
liquid N2 might make some available. But you would need a proper
storage container.

You might also want to contact a commercial supplier like these guys:

http://catalogs.google.com/catalogs?num=100&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&issue=16734&catpage=16

and see what they suggest.

If you could tell us more about what you need it for, it's possible
that one of the researchers might be able to offer an alternative.

Have you tried contacting local welding supply companies? Liquid
nitrogen may be available from such firms. University labs are another
good source, if you know someone on the faculty or staff of the
school.
