Question ID: 255718
I have a beautiful original water painting of a highlander in his kilt
standing out side a barn next to a horse. There is a young girl in
tartan picking up dead game birds from the ground. The painting is
signed T. Taylor 1863. The work is very detailed. Can you give me
any information on the artist and the paintings approx. value? Thank you.

Hi Irishwaif,

Since it's difficult to picture a painting's style and details from a
description, perhaps you could photograph it and post a picture that
we could look at. A close-up of the signature would be useful as well.

If you don't have your own website, you can register and upload your
images to one of the following free sites. Then come back here and use
the CLARIFY QUESTION button and post the URL.

Also be aware that a researcher probably cannot provide you with a
value for your painting, but may only be able to provide background on
the artist or the painting.

Thanks - K~

Unfortunatly the picture has been framed and matted. I can't take it
a part. Also, the signature is incorporated into the picture. It was
signed in green in the grass area. I'm afraid scanning will only
cause a glare. Is there a P.O. box that I might be able to mail you a
photograph? I can controle the glar better that way.
Thank you.

I'm afraid there is no way for you to send an actual photo to a
researcher. But if you have the photo, you could scan that and post
it.

Thanks -
