I have a lovely carving of a lady, who looks very Greek, reclining on a loundge. She is holding an apple in her left hand. The work is carved from bone and is quite detailed. There are the initials G.R. carved in the back. Can you give me any information on the artist and approx. value of the piece. It is about 5" long and 3" high at the tallest point. |

From the description, it might be a miniature copy of Canova's portrait sculpture of Pauline Bonaparte (Borghese): Official Site Borghese Gallery Canova - Pauline Bonaparte http://www.galleriaborghese.it/borghese/en/epaolinab.htm hlabadie-ga |
