I need to know how to go about finding a compatible kidney from a reliable sorce. There is need of a kidney by a member of my family who has gone into renal failer. In North America the wait is too long and we must look elsewhere to purchase one. Please find the most dependable organizations with documented good reputations. I have been lead to believe that these might be in Scandinavia, or possibly Russia, but I don't know how to find out. We will concider anywhere and need to get a sorce A.S.A.P. Thank you |

Here's an article about a kidney transplant (using a black market kidney) that didn't go so well: http://abcnews.go.com/sections/wnt/WorldNewsTonight/wnt010709_kidney_feature.html |

China is now the biggest supplier of human organs. The price is about US$3oooo for a flesh kidney. But the problem is it may not be very ethical because the main source of the organs is the criminals arrested and executed. It has been reported this is the main reason that in China so many people were executed for very mild crimes.Because their organs can be sold for very good money and the revenue was said to have become an important source of extra income for the extremely under-paid policemen or judicial staff. Unfortunately, many sources of organs are not reputable and, as dr_chung pointed out, often the "donors" are not willing participants. This quoted from "Human Profit," NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Sept, 2003. p 29. Photo Caption "Sometimes physical sacrifice comes froma single act. These women in the southern Indian town of Villivakkam, nicknamed "kidney village," each traded a kidney for cash. In their 20's at the time, married, and eager to pay off crushing family debts, they were easy marks for transplant agents who promised 50,000 rupees - about a thousand dollars- for an organ. The women got half the money in advance, but after their kidneys were removed, the rest of the fees were never paid. India has outlawed commerce in human organs, though that has not stopped the traffic." -K~ |
