Hello,

In the United States, it is possible to purchase goods from local
supermarkets online, and have the goods delivered directly to your
door. For example, Ralphs.com and Vons.com offer such services to US
residents for a delivery fee.

I would like to know if any supermarkets that are based in Israel
offer such a service. I.e., you shop on the supermarket's website, or
perhaps e-mail in your order, and the supermarket delivers the goods
directly to your door (assuming, of course, that you live in Israel).

Thanks,
Darren

Dear Darren,

Yes, there are such sites in Israel. I know it, because accidentally,
I talked with a friend who lives there about it, and he said that
unfortunately, because of the terror attacks in Tel Aviv, they only
order shopping in, and don't go to markets like they used to :-(

I haven't located a market research on the subject, so I am not sure
how wide the phenomenon is, but anecdotal evidences suggest that young
urban professionals (this friend, his social circle, etc.) use this
service.

Sites (all in Hebrew, sorry):

Netsal: http://www.shupersal.co.il/netsal1/ - belongs to the
"Shupersal"

Blue Centre: http://www.bluecenter.co.il/wlcs/index.jsp - belongs to
the "Co-Op"

Search option: after talking with my friend, I searched Hebrew
directories like www.walla.co.il and www.tapuz.co.il for the results.

I hope this answered your question. Please contact me if you need any
clarifications on this answer before you tip/rate it.
