Hi Researchers,

I'm not sure why I'm having so much trouble with this, but...

I'd like to be able to download music legally and burn cds from the
internet.  I've done a little research and Apple's iTunes looks
perfect except that I don't have an Apple.  I'm not that computer
savvy, but I have Real Player (which I assume I'll need).  Searching
for 'music download', 'legal music download' and 'mp3 download' hasn't
produced anything helpful.  Right now I'd like to download some songs
by Cake (www.cakemusic.com) but iuma.com, real2music.com etc don't
have any songs by this band.  I don't anticipate using the service
often, so am interested in a pay-per-song model rather than a monthly
fee.  Also, and I'm not sure if this is relevant, since I don't have a
cd burner connected to my comptuer I need to be able to save the files
to a zip disk to take to a friend's house for burning.

Got any suggestons for a legal service, pay-per-song with a
wide-ranging catalog of pop/rock music?  Let me know if you need more
info...

Virgin Music has set up a new pay-per-download music service;
unfortunately it doesn't have Cake included as of yet.

Hi statestraveller, www.buymusic.com is the site you're looking for.
It has a wide range of music and they cost 79 cents per song  and
upwards. I checked and they have a few cake albums too.

Thanks for the comment, derickaranha.  I checked it out, but they only
have the latest Cake album, and gosh darn it I'm looking for the two
earlier ones...more suggestions welcomed...
