Question ID: 257995
I’ve got two databases. One has about 150 columns and the other has
800 to 900 columns. I need to merge them into a single comma
delimitated file. I tried MS Access but there is a 255 column limit.

I’m looking for any or all of the following:
-	a MS Access work-around.
-	a free db utility that will allow me to complete this merge (or very
low cost)
-	a company/ individual who will do this merge for me at minimal cost

The project is for a client. Please don’t respond with information
about how a 1000 column table is bad db design. The client will use
it to upload into their internal systems and I just need a merge
solution.

Thanks.

Hello, cclegg06:

If you have Delphi, you can use the DB Explorer tool to perform a
query, select all the data and export it to CSV file.

If not, I can do it for you, just tell me where to download the data
and how much are you willing to pay for that merge.

Also you can wait if another researcher comes with another solution.

Regards.

Hello, cclegg06:
  What kind of databases are?

If the job it's only join two *tables*, one of 150 colums and
another of 900 columns into a single one and export the data to a CSV
file, well, I think we can do the following:

  -You post the data
  -I perform the merge
  -I answer this $10 question

If everything goes ok and you are satisfied with the results, then you
give me a tip, whatever you think it's fair. This is the policy of
Google Answers, always the best service ;-)

Regards.

The client data is confidential so I can’t post a public link to it.
I believe Google Answers does not permit us to provide personal
contact information through their service.

If you provide a URL for a resource I can use for this service (i.e.,
your own) than I would be happy to close out this question and contact
that resource directly.

Thanks.

Hello, cclegg06:

Compress your files in a single .zip and upload it here:

http://www.xpde.com/upload.php

The file you upload will be accessed only by me, and don't close this
question until I answer it ;-)

Sorry for the delay. We’re on the east coast and got shut down for a
few days due to the hurricane.

We found an alternative solution for this project. Our timeline
forced us to get it done faster than we could coordinate our efforts
here on Google Answers.

Thank you for your time. I’ll be happy to close out this question and
pay you for your time.

Hello, cclegg06:
No problem, and I hope everything is all right for you and your
family. The images we have seen here in Europe are terrible.

Also, do you mean I can answer the question to get the $10?

Regards.

Is joseleon-ga a user or a researcher/answerer ?

I have been wondering whether those who answer and are thus
accountable should not perhaps have a slightly different identifier
than us mere askers and commentators

wolvies, lol

It should be a simple matter to write a script that performs the
merge.

If you can post 1-2 lines from each file here (maybe mangled so that
no actual data shows) I can reply with a URL of a script to do just
what you want, and answer any questions about it.

Hello, wolvies:
Sure I'm a researcher, I think you can click on my login and see all
my answers. Do you need more differences?
Also, what does your comment have to do with this question?
