I'd like a list of the 10 easiest golf courses in Northern California
(within 40 miles of Redwood City, California) for a 25+ handicap.
Here's the qualifications for the golf course:

     * Each golf course has to be a regulation par 72 (4 par 5s, 4
par 3s, 6000
        yards or more)
     * I'd like the USGA course rating for the course.
     * I'd like the USGA slope rating for the course.
     * Course has to be public.
     * Link to courses a plus.
     * Rating cannot be from the ladies tees or the first tees if 3
tees listed.

I'm trying to win a best by shooting 90 or below on a regulation
course, and I'm trying to make it easier for me.

I play regularly in Northern California and have some insights on the
courses and their level of difficulty. I will provide 10 very
playable courses in your area (within 40 miles of Redwood City) along
with ratings and slopes. I have played a lot of these courses myself.
For a complete list of courses in the Bay Area, with Web adresses
included where applicable, go to the following:

http://www.ncga.org/southbay.htm
http://www.ncga.org/sfnb.htm
http://www.ncga.org/eastbay.htm

Here are the courses I find to be most playable in your area (ratings
and slopes from the men's tees):

Palo Alto Golf Club: Par 71, 6254 yds, 69.5, 114
Pleasant Hills: Par 72, 6198 yds, 69.2, 120
Poplar Creek: Par 70, 6042, 69.0, 113
SJ Muni: Par 72, 6297, 69.6, 116
Shoreline: 72, 6053, 70.1, 120
Sunnyvale (Blue): 70, 6255, 70.1, 121
Sharp Park: 72, 6299, 70.3, 117
Crystal Springs: 71, 6236, 70.4, 121
Chuck Corica Earl Fry Course (Blue): 72, 6307, 70.9, 123
Chuck Corica Jack Clark Course (Blue): 71, 6271, 70.5, 116

I would say the best scoring opportunites of these courses would be at
the Jack Clark course in Alameda and at Poplar Creek. I have shot
very well at both.

Hope this helps,
-dave

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response. This isn't exactly what I was looking
for. According to the the terms of the bet, I have to play at a par
72 course 6000+ yards, and hit 90 or less. So I was looking at only
par 72 courses.

Unfortunately, both Poplar and the Jack Clark course aren't Par 72, so
they don't count.

What's are some of the easiest par 72 courses in the area?

Thanks again.

Sharp Park is very score-able...not much trouble, and a par 72. I've
shot some of my best rounds ever there. I haven't played San Jose
Muni, but most municipal courses seem to be fairly trouble free around
here. Those would be my best bets if you have to play a 72,
unfortunately there a many courses in the area that are 70 or 71.
