Question ID: 258120
Who were the parents of Mary Copeland Jenkins Outlaw. Mary was my
great grandmother. She married Lewis Outlaw in Tennessee and they had
my grandmother Laura Isabel Outlaw. Laura Outlaw married my
grandfather Josiah Dodds Gibbs. Josiah and Laura moved to Montgomery
County, Texas, in the late 1800's and Mary Copeland Jenkins Outlaw may
have moved to Texas also.

I can put you in touch with a researcher who say she knows the name of
Mary's father (but not her mother - although she may know something
new by now). This researcher maintains a private database containing
the names, places, dates and other personal information about all the
people you have mentioned and only allows access to interested parties
who are direct decendants.

If this connection I can provide to you will provide an answer in lieu
of the actual facts you are seeking I will post it as an answer for
you if you woould like me to do so. This information will also allow
you to contact a number of other active researchers who are also
decendants of the people you mentioned.

I cannot be certain of course, not having access to the private
database myself (since I am not a decendant) but the related
reseachers who are working on this family history might also be able
to answer all or part of your previously posted question seen here:

http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=258119

Again, I can't be certain of this, but from what I have read it might
be a possibility because some of the names in this question have been
mentioned also.

Clarification of Question by kitty2003-ga on 19 Sep 2003 21:28 PDT
Yes please give me the researcher who says they know the name of Mary
Copeland Jenkins Outlaw's father. They may have other information
that I am looking for.

Is this researcher known as grannyjean and if so are you certain that
you can get me in touch with her?

I just want to make sure that the link you give me to the researcher
is valid as of today.

I would be very happy to take this as an answer if you can get me into
the database and in contact with this researcher.

Thanks.

I have an email out to the researcher at the moment to see if the
email address is a valid one. Please be patient and stand by a while
until I can confirm it, at which time I will post my answer.

Thank you

Dear kitty2003-ga;

Thank you for allowing me an opportunity to answer your interesting
question.

The researcher I am referring to is in fact “grannyjean”. I noticed
that this person seems to have become missing in action, so to speak,
according to a number of genealogy threads and a number of people on
GENFORUM are trying to reach her in order to continue their research.
However, from a fairly recent post of hers inviting others to contact
her for genealogy research I was able to find her and speak with her
via email.

** I CAN CONFIRM AND GUARANTEE THAT THIS IS A VALID CONTACT AS OF
TODAY LEADING DIRECTLY TO THE OUTLAW FAMILY RESEARCHER WHO CAN
AUTHORIZE ACCESS TO THE PRIVATE OUTLAW FAMILY DATABASE **

You can find her listed among these public researchers:

BRADLEY COUNTY RESEARCHERS
http://www.rootsweb.com/~arbradle/researchers2.html

Another post from her inviting the public to contact her with research
questions appears here:

MONTGOMERY COUNTY SURNAME LIST
http://www.tngenweb.org/montgomery/surname.html

“Grannyjean” apparently has quite a following with the Outlaw Family
followers and in my email to her I asked her if she could confirm that
she was the same person that everyone researching this line seems to
be talking about. She confirmed that she was and mentioned that her
database was private and accessible only with her permission. Because
of some internal changes with the provider where the database is
hosted, as of October 1, 2003, there will be a $5.00 fee (per year,
per family) for access so now appears to be the best time to get
onboard before the fee based access begins. Contact “grannyjean”. If
you can meet her requirements and provide convincing evidence that you
have a family interest in her database, this WILL get you in.

Now, having said that, if you have not already seen this, “grannyjean”
herself posted this important note on Genforum. Be sure to mention
this quote and this link to her so she can refer back to the
information you are after and perhaps expound on it in greater detail:

“I show the father of Mary Copeland as William C. Copeland, but have
no dates nor wife’s name!! I also have a census report on Lewis
Outlaw, whos (sic) father was also Lewis, making him #2. That
information I will e-mail to you on request, but do not want to post
it!!”

You will note, I’m sure, that the address posted below (through which
people seem to be having difficulty making successful contact) is not
the same as the more recent ones I pointed out above. This explains
why people on Genforum have been unable to contact her and why I was
able to pull it off when they could not.

I will now set to work on your other question and seek to straighten
out the confusion with the names you mentioned and provide corrections
where possible.

Below you will find that I have carefully defined my search strategy
for you in the event that you need to search for more information. By
following the same type of searches that I did you may be able to
enhance the research I have provided even further. I hope you find
that that my research exceeds your expectations. If you have any
questions about my research please post a clarification request prior
to rating the answer. Otherwise, I welcome your rating and your final
comments and I look forward to working with you again in the near
future. Thank you for bringing your question to us.

Best regards;
Tutuzdad-ga
