I am looking for the name of a famous writer/poet of the First World
War whose mother wrote letters to him during the war knowing that he
needed her support in order not to 'lose it'. She became ill and wrote
over 2oo letters before she died and left strict instructions that her
son receive one a week and thus not know that she had died. Who was
that?
