I found a site once that provided free on-line zoom-able maps for all
over the world.  Once you found the city, you could go to another
page, enter a first initial and last name of a person and it would
show you on the map where the person lived in that city.  It also
would show restaurants and so forth in that neighbourhood. I've looked
at mapquest
yahoomaps and nothing seems to provide this service of searching a
map/neighbourhood by name.  I was looking at
Vancouver and Edmonton Canada the first time I found the site.  Could
someone please find this service/link for me again?  It was about a
month ago that I first found it by accident when looking- I think- for
mileage or driving directions.

this is a sample of a random person search on my local version of the
site. as you can see it provides local resteraunt and Business's near
by. and also provides a link to a zoomable map with a pin icon where
the searched person lives. i hope this helps you find what you're
looking for.
