Hi rcha2000-ga,
From the information you have provided, it appears that you are
another unfortunate victim of a browser home page hijacker. The
simplest way to remove these browser hijackers is to download and
install a spyware removal tool on your computer. Two of the most
popular spyware removers are:
      - Spybot : Search & Destroy v1.1
        (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?lang=en&page=start)
The first thing to do after installing Spybot, is to update it
to the latest detections. To do this, start Spybot and click on the
"Search for updates" button. Then click on the "Download updates"
button to retrieve and install the updates (If you dont see these
buttons, then click on the "Online" tab displayed on the left side of
the window). Once you have updated the detections, you can use Spybot
to detect and remove any spyware/hijackers that might be installed on
your computer. You can find a tutorial for Spybot here:

      - AdAware v6
        (http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/)
If Spybot is unable to solve your problem, try scanning with
AdAware to see if it is able to detect the browser hijacker.

If your problems still persist, you might be affected by the
CoolWebSearch hijacker, or one of its many variants. You can find more
information on this hijacker, its variants and their symptoms, and a
tool for removing them, here:
      - The CoolWebSearch Chronicles
         (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/cwschronicles.html)

Also, to protect your home page from future modifications by any
website or hijacker, you can use the following free utility:
      - StartPage Guard 2.5
        (http://www.pjwalczak.com/spguard/)

===============================================================
One of the above solutions should be enough to solve your problem. In
case the problem persists, please post a list of programs that startup
with your Windows XP, here. You can see the list of startup programs
by clicking on StartMenu>Run and typing msconfig.exe . In the windows
that pops up, click on the "Startup" tab.

Hope this helps.

If you need any clarifications, just ask!

Regards,
Theta-ga
:-)
