I am very impressed by General Wesley Clark and encouraged by his bid
for the presidency. I have read that after he retired from the
military, he became an investor and CEO of a corporation. How can I
find out what business dealings he has been involved in?

Are you seeking to find out specifically each and every civilian
business transaction he might have played a part in, or would you be
satisfied with the names of companies that he has been affiliated with
professionally since his official military retirement?

I can provide the latter for you if this will suffice as an answer.

Awaiting your reply;

The latter would be fine.

Any further info on " Wesley K. Clark & Associates, a
business services and development firm based in Little Rock, Arkansas"?
What sort of "business services and development?"

I am sorry. I did neglect that one didn’t I? Oh well, it actually
pales in comparison to the many other things Clark is involved in and
is barely worth mentioning at all:

Wesley K. Clark & Associates is described as both a "strategic
advisory and consulting firm" and as a "business services and
development firm" and it is indeed based in Little Rock, Ark.

To cut past all the fluff and important sounding titles and get right
down to it however, from what I can gather Wesley K. Clark &
Associates is currently focusing primarily on self-preservation and
it’s most important purpose, for the moment at least, is advising and
providing business strategy to the Clark for President movement
itself. The firm just opened in March 2003 and hasn’t acquired a
reputation or track record for any remarkable business transactions
outside of the General’s personal interests that I can see, which
leads one to question whether or not it may have been founded
specifically with Clark’s campaign purposes in mind:

Here is an excerpt of one reporter’s report following a visit to
Wesley K. Clark & Associates offices that confirms Clark, et al is
redirecting it’s focus on the Chairman himself:

“In the office of Wesley K. Clark & Associates, the madness had begun
for the day long before I arrived. First thing to note, they need some
more space: They are hunting for properties for their national
headquarters in Little Rock but that is not stopping them from their
work. The floor, the chairs, an RV pulled up in the yard, everywhere
is a place to work, to plan. Volunteers stopped by all day. Frantic
was the word that kept popping into my head. The general was focused —
coming out of his office infrequently. When he did, he said hello but
it was clear that I was on his turf and his turf meant he was working,
I was visiting and there was no way he was taking questions. So no
“plain and simple language” for me today. But I did get a warm
reception to the idea of an embed from all involved with the campaign,
including the general himself. Midday, with little flourish, he headed
out with a small group to wing their way to Florida. He left the
troops still introducing themselves to one another and figuring out
roles and responsibilities.”

The organization known as LEADERSHIP FOR AMERICA is Clark’s Official
web site and beyond what we can glean collectively from the links I
have already provided, like many public figures tend to do once their
limelight goes out, I think it is safe to assume that Wesley K. Clark
& Associates is merely Clark’s personal business office. From this
home base he can be contacted to provide business advice, recommend
operational strategy (presumably for any purposes), motivational
speeches and conduct any other work in the private sector that comes
his way as requests pour in for his insight and experience. When he is
not helping others run their affairs, writing books or making public
appearances, by all appearances, it seems that Wesley K. Clark &
Associates primarily focuses on, well…Wesley K. Clark.

I hope this clears it up.
