Hello, maejoy:

It seems that this dll allows to play DVD files on your computer,
check out this list:

Could you tell us more about your problem?
When do you get that message? When you are trying to shutdown your
computer? Could you post the entire message?

Regards.

Since I do not use the computer for DVD files how can I get rid of
seeing the dvdb00us.dll message?
Regarding the problem of not being able to close down the computer, it
happens every time I am ready to quit and I get the message indicating
that there has been an illegal procedure and that the computer will
close. HOWEVER-then the computer freezes and nothing more can be
done. Thus I shut it off manually at the main switch.

Did this problem just start happening recently? If so, have you
installed any new programs on your computer lately?

Yes, I installed Private IE and Secure IE.
Frankly I don't know what made me think I needed to install it. I
have McAfee virus protection etc. In your opinion do I need the
Private IE and Secure IE? I have thought about deleting that
installation to see if it helped but since I am so ignorant of
computers I try very hard not to screw it up. We oldies have many
problems with the tech world.
Thanks for you help.

Well the most simple and sure fire way to get rid of that message and
give your computer a new life is to reformat and reinstall windows.
This really isnt a hard procces, just a bit time consuming. And it is
wise to reformat every six months for optimal preformance.
