have you ever heard of a stogie putter, It has a long thin blade and good balance. I have one and I've seen Jack Nicklaus use one in a tournamemt. When was it made and by what company. thanks, Frank Egan |

Hello ironman213, I haven't been able to find any thing that definately answers your question, but I did find this. "Two years ago I built myself a Golfsmith "Stogie" putter and I love it. I used a lightweight composite metal shaft (Ti/Al, I think). This putter is brass, and L-o-o-ong and thin. The head is about 10 inches long and looks so funny that even Golfsmith makes fun of it in their catalog." http://groups.google.com/groups?q=stogie+putter&hl=pt&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&as_qdr=all&selm=9502101720067901%40informal.com&rnum=1 Subsequent research would seem to suggest that this putter was "home made" from a kit supplied by Golfsmith. Their products can be seen here. There is no "Stogie" in the list and I suspect it stopped being suppled some time ago. Note that this post goes back to 1995! Good luck in your quest. THX1138 |
