I am seeking information about research studies being conducted in New
York City on bipolar disorder or asthma. The studies should provide
money to subjects who have either of these disorders and participate
in the study.

It is my understanding that payments for enrollment into clinical
trials are only made to healthy controls. Patients receive the
treatment that is offered plus reasonable expenses, but no more.

NYU is a site for the STEP-BD study of Bipolar disorder. The main
pathway for the study doesn't pay, but once you are enrolled their are
some sub-studies that pay a nominal fee.

Silvernitrate,

The US government maintains the "ClinicalTrials.gov" website to index
and provide information on all clinical trials currently being
monitored by the FDA. It is at http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct. I'd
suggest you search this site for either disease, with New York as the
location, to see what studies are being recruited for in the NYC area.

I am posting this as a comment rather than an answer because the
information given on the site does not indicate whether or how
participants are compensated.
