Hi Andy,

Well, I'm a bit puzzled. There doesn't seem to be (at least any more)
a Staedtler eraser with the part number BT 40. The only 525 series
eraser Staedtler lists is described as follows:

STAEDTLER - Art Kneadable Eraser
Soft and pliable rubber eraser that can be kneaded into any shape.
Ideal for highlighting chalks, charcoals, pastels, and for cleaning
artwork and film.

I've sent an email to Staedtler to see if this is the same product or
if there is an equivalent product to the one you are looking for.

I'll let you know as soon as I hear back from them.

I'm having the same problem but I do know that the eraser I'm looking for is
still avalable in Germany. At least I was lead to believe it was.

Well Andy, I haven't heard anything back from Staedtler and honestly
don't expect to. Rather than an email address, they've got one of
those message submission forms on their site and from past experience
with those things, I know you seldom ever hear back.

I'll point our German researchers to this question, and maybe one of
them can do some investigating locally.

Thanks for your patience,

-K~

Oh, by the way Andy, I guess I should have asked you to clarify ..

Are you saying that the 525 eraser desribed above does NOT sound
similar or equivalent to what you are looking for?

If not, can you describe the one you ARE looking for?

The eraser is a blue and white eraser. one side for ink and the other
for pencil. It is not the new tpye of plastic eraser that are on the
market today.
I have purchased over a dozen boxes of erasers that are the wrong
type. I
believe it is the old style of ink and pencil eraser and what I mean
by that is
it can be hard on the paper and that's what I need.

PS: it has another white core in the middle even in the blue part.
