Hi werde,

I have been working on your question, but I need to clarify a few
things before I continue.

Do you mean by Canon Digital 400, the Canon Digital Ixus 400?

I have found no reference to a canon Digital Ixus i. Would this be by
any chance the Canon Digital Ixus L-1?

Regards,
rainbow~

Hi werde,

The following is the result of my research on reviews and comments for
the four digital cameras you have requested.

Kodak Easyshare LS633
*******************

“THIS is the camera with the new fangled OLED display, and the display
is hot.
It is bright, crisp, flatter on the camera back than an LCD, and it
can be seen in strong sunlight, and from anywhere within 165 degrees
of the screen.
However, in the fuss about its display, the strengths of the camera
should not be overlooked. This is an extremely well designed, smart
looking, entry level digital camera.
Its metallic body nicely frames the screen. It is powered by a
supplied rechargeable lithium ion cell.
The LS633 takes shots at a quite remarkable range of image sizes and
lens adjustments, including macro. There is no long gap between
shutter depression and image capture. The auto-focus is sharp and
reliable, and auto-flash accurately supports image brightness.
Megapixel resolution at 3.1 and a 3x optical zoom lens make for
remarkably strong pictures.”

“The camera is targeted at beginners who do not want the complexities
of digital imaging and just want to take pictures.”

---------------------------------------------------

“The Kodak LS633 is a fairly good digicam, especially in terms of
looks and construction. Its has an innovative monitor, the first OLED
to be integrated into a digital camera. Its pictures are quite good,
though not the tops.”

Canon Digital IXUS v3
******************

“Great digicam for beginners.
I bought this camera for point-and-shoot purposes, e.g. attend a
party, wedding, on vacation, etc. The GOOD: 1. Indoor pics are clear
even without flash; 2. CF
cards are cheap, can buy large memory; 3. movie mode with sound; 4.
manual mode has shutter speed, white balance, ISO... which allow me to
take nice pics even
in extreme conditions, e.g. in the dark with only candle light. The
BAD: 1. When zooming in to take close objects, the pics tend to be
blur even when I set to macro
mode, guess it's too sensitive to handshake; 2. shutter lag is not
fast enough to capture moving objects, hence a lot of my
"pics-of-the-moment" were screwed up. In
short, this camera is good for still objects like scenery.”

“Fantastic camera!
Awesome camera. Super high-quality images and brilliant video quality
from a tiny little package. Only downside is the 2x optical zoom
(compensated by the 3x
digital zoom). Highly recommended.”

“Good for first-timers...
I've got this camera for about two weeks now (my first camera in 26
years)! It's really easy to use, and it doesn't take long to learn
about the camera's features, after reading the quick step guide
included in the package. I like the digital video feature but the only
disappointing bit is the lack of in-built speakers. It would really be
nice to replay your digital video on the camera immediately and relive
the fun moments on the spot! Otherwise, this product is definitely a
good buy.”

“Excellent, perfect and wonderful camera.
Excellent and perfect camera! I have brought and used this wonderful
camera for a week and found that it captures superior clear, sharp and
crisp photos. The image quality of every photo which I took is
exceptionally good for a camera of this size. You can capture every
detail of the subject which you are taking up to the fine hairs on the
human hand and small wordings of the contents on a drink can very
clearly and sharply. Using the infinity mode, I can even take
breathtaking and very clear panoramic pictures of the city kilometers
away from the top of my house. I now take my camera along with me
everywhere I go. No more embarrassment now that I can proudly show the
pictures I took with my IXUS v3 to my friends as they are of very high
quality. The video function is also a bonus and the quality is also
good. The bundled software works fine as well. I would recommend the
IXUS v3 to anyone who wants to buy a really good digital camera and
are not sure which model to choose. It is really value for money.
Thumbs up to Canon for producing such an awesome-performance camera in
a little body.”

“Real power-pack in pocket-size format!
Sure, there are more fancier digi-cameras out there, but definitely
nothing as good as Ixus in this size!”

“As an avid digital photographer I now own a whole variety of
equipment. I'm on my second digital Ixus (had the V before the V3) and
I been very pleased with the
results - especially given the small size of this camera. I'd be hard
pushed to really find any detrimental faults with this camera and
regularly get excellent print quality
from the results.”

“I am new to digital photography having bought my Canon 3 weeks ago
but have found the camera extremely easy to use and the quality near
the standard of my
Canon T70 SLR camera. I do agree however that Redeye with flash shots
is a minor problem but is easily edited with the supplied software. As
for outside action
shots (kids playing football)I have no issue as they, so far at least,
have all come out just fine.”

“i bought the ixus quite recently and having got over the playtime, i
have now got to know the camera quite well and am really over the moon
with the quality and ease of use, i have not noticed any problems with
red eye or everyday action shots, ie the grandchildren running around
the garden. I love the short movie feature.
Connectivity to computer and tv is very good, and the software
provided is good for my needs all in all i can recommend this camera
highly.”

Canon Digital Ixus i (aka PowerShot SD10)
**********************************

The Canon Powershot SD10 Digital Elph camera will be available
beginning in mid-October at a suggested price of $449.

A Digital Eye
http://www.a-digital-eye.com/#canonsd10

---------------------------------------------------

“The PowerShot SD10 4-megapixel ultracompact has an excellent pedigree
as one of Canon's Digital Elphs. Visions of product placement are
dancing in the heads of the company's execs, but we suspect this
digicam has more photographic style than substance.

Upside: Canon cameras have a history of cramming excellent image
quality into small packages, and we expect the SD10 to follow suit.
Plus, we like the design and the choice of black, bronze, silver, and
white finishes. Style is what these fashion cams are all about, right?

Downside: The SD10 is not the only pretty face out there, and some
capable competitors will likely offer you more for your money. This
PowerShot's biggest drawback is that its lens has a fixed focal
length: 39mm in 35mm-camera terms. With the image detail that 4
megapixels afford, it seems silly to limit your close-up shooting
capabilities. And zooms provide a significant amount of flexibility
that point-and-shooters will miss after a while.”

Canon Digital Ixus 400
*****************

“Firstly, the build quality of this tiny camera is fantastic- full
metal jacket!, the lens is incredible (3x optical zoom), and the
colour realism is the best I've ever seen on a digital camera. Canon
have produced yet another great ixus, but this time with a massive 4
mega pixels. The anti red eye is greatly improved (I've currently
taken about 400 pictures and not seen one red eye yet!), and the
detail is stunning - especially on Macro mode, (with large settings @
super-fine), I took a photo of a small house spider, and on my monitor
it looks like it was the size of a bath tub! and you can see every
hair on every leg.
The Automatic intelligent focus (9 point) seems flawless too
Another improvement is that the Ixus battery now lasts longer because
the camera is less power hungry, also night-shots on manual settings
are crystal clear if you've got a tripod (or a seriously steady hand!)
fantastic camera!, deserves to be the market leader.”

“I have just bought the Canon Ixus 400 having spent many happy hours
researching digital cameras on the web and via magazines. I determined
that I basically needed a small point and shoot camera but one that
produced good quality output and had a degree of manual controls if I
wanted to get a bit more adventurous. Many of the camera reviews I
found pointed me towards the Ixus 400 and all of the reviews of the
camera itself were highly complementary.
Well, now I've taken the plunge and bought one I can only say that I
am delighted with my choice. I think I have bought the perfect small
digital camera.
Using it is really easy and it does indeed produce excellent results.
I added a 256K memory card and at the highest resolution (A4 size
prints) I can store an amazing 120 shots in the camera without having
to download.
One of my favourite features is being able to zoom into the picture I
have just taken in playback mode. This helps in reviewing and deciding
whether or not to keep the shot.
The camera is really quick to turn on and use. The controls are
relatively self explanatory although as a digital novice I do admit
that the user manual is rather complex as it has so many features of
the camera to convey. I also added a small case for the camera which
is also excellent as it is designed to fit onto a belt and given the
size of the Ixus it makes it a doddle to take everywhere with me.
I am expecting that this camera will last me for several years to come
and it has already enabled me to take some great shots of my holiday
in California.
If you are looking for a good quality digital point and shoot camera
this one comes highly recommended from me at least! Buy one - you wont
regret it.”

“I'd been looking for a digital camera that would replace my current
film-based camera for some time. I wanted a small unit that could slip
into a pocket whilst not sacrificing quality. I'm happy to report that
the Ixus 400 meets all these requirements. I had been looking at the
V3 for a while but wanted more than 2x optical zoom. To the 9-point
focusing system and intelligent orientation sensor, the Ixus 400 adds
4 mega-pixels, a slightly better range of exposure times and sound
memo functionality.
The design of the camera is, in general, very good. The wheel on the
back-left sets the mode (auto, manual, stitch-assist or movie). So
far, the automatic mode has been sufficient although the manual mode
gives control over film-speeds and exposure times which is sufficient
for me. The only slight annoyance is the rubber cap over the USB and
video outputs, which makes the camera unstable for timed portraint
pictures. The strap clasp at the opposite end causes similar problems.
It is also very easy to get fingerprints on the LCD which is close to
the edge of the casing. However, these are small grumbles given the
image quality the camera gives.
In continuous use and with the LCD on, I get about the quoted 100
pictures before the battery dies. However, turning the display off
makes the battery last for about 350 pictures with a 2 second review
after each shot.
If you're after a compact camera with very good picture quality and
some manual controls, my advice would be to buy the Ixus 400. You'll
probably want to get a 128Mb or 256Mb CF card as athough the supplied
32Mb card is larger than most, it will still fill up very quickly for
high-resolution pictures or videos.”

“Good Points:
Size, ease of use, Excellent build and picture quality, almost lack of
red eye in many flash shots, software, highly desirable!
Bad Points:
None found yet!
General Comments:
I am very impressed with the Canon IXUS 400 so far having ordered from
cameras direct (http://www.camerasdirect.co.uk/)last week. Operation
is simplicity itself and the image quality appears to be great. The
camera looks fantastic and is very portable like all IXUS types. I
would have no hesitation in recommending this camera.”
