I want statistics from a reputable source or sources on the relative
percentages of gay vs. straight-directed pornographic images on the
web (i.e., of all pornographic images on the web, X% are classifiable
as "straight" and Y% as "gay") . I'm understanding "gay" porn to
involve naked or
sexually explicit images of men only, or images with two or more men
involved in explicit acts together. "Straight" porn would involve
naked or explicit images of women only, or of a man or men involved in
explicit acts with a woman.

(note that my categories assume the preferences of a male viewer, that
is, "straight" porn may involve two women together, but MUST involve
at least one woman. "gay" porn must involve a man or men, but would
not involve any women.

I was able to find some statistics on how many gay and straight users
are into porn, but nothing on how much content is gay-directed versus
straight-directed. I wonder if you will accept this kind of
information as an answer.

Would you accept an answer calculated from the number of sites listed
in Google Directory under each category?

Techtor: yes, I would accept your statistics on the actual or relative
numbers of gay and straight users as an answer, as long as these
numbers pertain to *internet* porn, and not pornography in general.

A bit of a mistake on my part here... What I found were statistics on
the percentage of gays vs. straight using the Internet in general,
rather than just Internet porn. I'm afraid I'll have to dig deeper for
more information.

A quick series of searches on Google for word/phrases like:

"men porn sites" vs. "women porn sites", or
"men porn links" vs. "women porn links", or
"boy porn sites" vs. "girl porn sites", etc.

Seems to show that the COUNT of websites affiliated toward the female
gender is typically in a ratio of about 60:40 or 65:35 versus the
equivalent male gender.

But "men porn sites" could be a site containing men, or a site for men
(ie heterosexual men).

I think the ratio will be 1:38
