Our car was unsuccesfully repaired by a Cottman Transmissions local franchise. The warranty was not honored when the original problem returned 3 days later. The local owner is unresponsive and seems to be a rogue. Franchisor claims no responsibility yet received royalties and fees derived from my payments. When First Union granted us a refund (3/28) and removed the charges, I closed the original complaints I filed with 3 consumer protection agencies. Cottman and their lawyers turned around and forced the bank to reinstate the charges (6/26) citing that the 3 complaints were closed as "unfounded". This was a deliberate deception on their part. We are without a usable car and $1961 plus additional related costs. We have had little luck with media and consumer protection agencies. What more can we do?
