Note to Pinkfreud: The painting on that web page is the same painting that the Library of Congress indentifies as "The Battle of Chickamauga" by James Walker: http://hdl.loc.gov/loc.pnp/cph.3g04175 |

A part of the painting is shown on the Holbrook trip web page and is also shown complete on the Library of Congress web page listed on the comment. |

9-27-2003 It looks as if the Battle of Chickamauga may be located at the same place or in the same general area. It is a 13 ft. by 33 ft. mural commissioned by a general Fighting Joe Hooker for $20,000. Contact this number for more information (423) 821-7786 (Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park) and the mural may possibly be on display at 110 E. Brow Rd. (haven't been able yet to determine the exact city). Someone at the park number can probably give you more information. If not successful, then post a response as I may have an alternate phone number to check. Are you interested in purchasing this mural or just curious about it? SINCERELY, 4KEITH (I'm NOT a GOOGLE Researcher) |
