Hi Keith,

I recently attended the University of Utah. They have old Deseret News
editions in the Marriott LIbrary at the University. They have Volume 1
Number 1 (from 1850) through Volume 37 Number 50 (1888) in one
section. You can find it in the Microfilm section on the first floor.
I think, within the Microfilm section, there is a Utah News section.
Then look for Deseret News alphabetically.

I searched for it using the University of Utah library web site, which
is not accessible for non-students (I was very recently a student, so
I'm still in the system). I will copy & paste the results page for
you. I really hope the formatting doesn't mess up below -- if it does,
just respond and I will try again.

I have seen the microfilm copy at the church history department. I am
looking for an original edition from 1875 as a collectors item.

Keith,

Wow, I am sorry. The fact is I was so excited to answer this, since I
had just attended the U of U, and knew about its huge Microfilm
reserves. I should have known that by requesting an original edition,
you wanted the actual paper itself. You might want to reject my answer
so that someone else -- who can find the paper itself -- may answer
it.

Sincerely,
CJS
Reason this answer was rejected by keithf-ga:
I requested information about an original edition of the Desert News,
not a copy of microfilm

i was unable to find any exact information regarding that issue for
sale at this time.

However, I have an email into a collector and seller of the Deseret
News asking if he or she has an issue for sale, or knows where one is
available. I'll update you with either an answer or a comment as soon
as I have any information
