Which digital camera (make & model), excluding professional models, in
the 4-5 megapixel range has the shortest next shot delay? I've found
this to be the most dramatic difference between digital and film
cameras, that annoying 2-3-second wait while the camera stores the
last pic taken before it's ready to take the next. Professional models
costing $4000-$6000 have this prob licked, but so far I haven't seen
any point-and-shoot cameras in the $300-$800 range that perform
without such a delay. Have you?

Nautico --

Unless you're lucky, this question will involve a substantial amount
of research -- probably 4 hours or more.

However, in any event the researcher will want to know: do you mean
between single shots or in a "motor-drive" or action sequence? For
example, my Olympus has several seconds between shots -- but also
takes 5 frames in 1.5 seconds in its "sequence" mode.

Best regards,

Ahoy, nautico!

Omnivorous is right: researching this thoroughly will take quite a bit
of time.

If you'd like to do some hunting on your own, this search string
should be helpful:

Google Web Search: "digital camera" + "shortest" + "lag"

Thanks, Omnivorous and Pink. I tried out your search string, Pink, and
I like the results. Will proceed on my own.
