I am building a sofa bed.  

I need to locate a manufacturer / supplier of the folding bed
mechanism which I will install into the sofa I am building.

I am not interested in a murphy/wall bed solution.

Preferably I'd like to locate a manufactuer / supplier in Canada.

There are plenty of sofa bed manufacturers...but they only sell
complete sofa beds - I just want the supplier of the mechanisms they
use in their products.

Hi antonyupward, 
I have located two possible sources of sofa-bed mechanisms. I want to
be clear as to exactly what you want. I believe you want to fold away
the mattress, as in a fold-away, where the mattress folds over when
tucked down, and covered with the sofa seats. I have found a site with
a picture of a sofa bed mechanism, but it appears to be just the hinge
part. Do you have the other hardware already?

Hi,

Its the whole mechanism, including matress that I want.

I actually managed to locate and order one about a week after I posted
the questions...still interested in a 2nd source (the one I found was
made by Hafelle-German company)...but will closed the question if you
want to stop now.

  Yes, you may close the question if you have already located the bed
mechanism. I have heard back nothing yet from one distributor.
Here is the site with what appears to be a partial mechanism:
