Hi randysch,

You can find a variety of used French language cookbooks on Abebooks.

http://dogbert.abebooks.com/servlet/BookSearchPL

Type " Gastronomie " or " Culinaires " or " recettes " in the
"keyword" field.
Set the "country" field to your location.
Set the "sort-by" field to "lowest price".

Here are just a few I found by searching Canada and the USA but you'll
find many more if you search "all countries":

If by "old" you mean nearing the century mark, here is one from 1904:

200 RECETTES, LE CUISINE FRANCAIS DU XIV AU XX SIECLE

I hope this helps. If you would like to narrow down your choices, such
as a pastry cookbook located for sale in the US, or older ones like
the 1904 copy above, I would be happy to try and help you find just
what you are looking for. If you have any questions, please post a
clarification request before rating my answer.

Thank you,
hummer

Hey Hummer,

Nice work. However, I was hoping to see some of the contents of the
book ... might be too much to ask? I didn't think about that until
just now, but that would be the best. Why? I'm going to use the pages
as wallpaper. I'm looking for old ones ... yellowed pages would be
good ... old illustrations would be great ... photos won't look right.

If this is too much to ask, just let me know. It probably is ... for
my puny fee of $5. If it's possible and doable, maybe you could
suggest how I can "up" the fee and for how much?

Thanks,
Randy

Hi again Randy,

I will be happy to try and help you locate what you need but I'm not
entirely sure what it is. Do I understand you correctly, that you
would like to buy enough French cookbooks to remove their
illustrations and paper your wall with them? Or rather just find one
illustration that you like and duplicate it enough times to paper your
wall with it? At any rate, here is one possiblity - you would need to
get in touch with the bookseller and ask him to send you a few images
to find out if his book suit.

This book has 328 gravures:

Here's another, but it's not very large:

L'art d'appręter le poulet:

In regards to the price of the question, it is entirely up to you.
Once a question is answered, it is too late to change the price,
however, Google has put in place an opportunity to tip a researcher
when you rate the answer or alternately, it is possible to post a new
question with "FOR XYZ-GA" in the subject line.

You can review Google Answer's pricing guide here:

I'll look forward to hearing back from you in regards to exactly what
it is you need - lay it all out for me!

Sincerely,
hummer
