Briefly describe the medical, and the wellness models of health care.
Reflect on these models in relationship to your own practice. (e.g.
have you internalized one of these models more than the other? What
effect does the model you use impact your practice, positively or
negatively?

When you ask us to reflect on "our own practice" this rather depends
on what our own practice is. Can you give a little more information
about what you need, or would accept, as an answer?

Thanks,

to whom it may concern,

thankyou for reviewing my question. Please focus on the hospital
setting, where the medical model is most prominent for the physician's
and nursing in returns practices the art of wellness through teaching
but implements the medical model.

I as a nursing administrator use the medical model most often. The
effect is the tug of war between the art of nursing (caring) and that
of the medical model in which is now influenced by the health
insurance companies. Unfotunately has led to a negative impact on the
way that I approach the client regarding the need to discharge to home
before the client feels they are ready, either emotional, physical or
financial.
