Propulsid, a drug which helped me a lot against GERD (gastric
esophagus (?) reflux disease), has been banned by the FDA allegedly
because it causes heart problems, but is available abroad. Does
anybody know how I could get hold of this drug, preferably without a
prescription, since doctors are too chicken to prescribe a banned drug
even though the "heart problems" start only at dosages of 2 mg/kg
bodyweight which is 8 times as much as the 20mg I am taking, and I
have experienced no problems with it. The generic name is Cisaprid.

First of all, the FDA did not ban it, they just put a strong warning
on it - the manufacturer then decided to stop marketing it in the US. 
Secondly, the doctors aren't all too chicken to prescribe it - it just
isn't available in the US anymore - it doesn't matter whether we want
to prescribe it or not.
