I require a list of the central bank interest rates around the world.

e.g. Bank of England is 3.5%, the US Federal Reserve is (I think) 4%.

I dont know what the technical name for this rate is, but "the main
one that all savings banks set theirs against", "the one that is
always in the news" (in the UK it is called repo rate).

Note I need to see this list, so not one that requires me to pay.

Thank you.

Hi macaonghus, and thank you for this question!

The rate that you are looking for is often referred to as the 'prime
rate' or, much less frequently, 'official interest rate'.

After a lot of internet-scouring, I have found two sites that I
believe will be of use to you.

_#1 Loans USA_

This is the most complete list that I have located, and I believe it
supplies enough information to suit your needs:
http://www.1loansusa.com/interestrates2.html

_Yahoo Finance_

Yahoo Finance is a constantly updated list of key interest rates for
major industrialised nations.

Please feel free to ask if you need any clarification upon this
answer.

Thanks again!

Dear Bobby,

This list is OK, but not good enough, since I really did mean the
central banks of the world. This has some of the countries I need but
by no means all of them. Thank you for trying,

James

I'm sorry to answer this request so late.

I have done a lot of research in this area, and it seems that the best
information you can get is at '#1 Loans USA'. It is important to
remember that many governments do not regulate their country's
interest rates, and allow the major banks to move this rate by the
natural flow of a free market.

I am currently researching to find more information on the matter, and
perhaps more informative websites. I am sorry that you are not
satisfied with this answer.

If you wish to have your question refunded, you can apply for such a
request here:

Thanks again, and I hope I can fill you in with the material you need.

Reason this answer was rejected by macaonghus-ga:
The answer was incomplete. I was looking for interest rates of all
countries, and was given about 35. The ones missing were in fact the
ones I was after, since I was largely given the "easy ones". The
answer was good as far as it went, but did not go far enough.
