The moneyline is a way to make a wager on sports. If a team is -110 then if you wager 110 on them you would win 100. If a team is +190 then if you wager 100 you win 190. I am trying to figure out if there is a formula or a way I can calculate these using excel. For instance: If Team A is -110 then Team B is also -110 If Team A is -135 then Team B is +125 If Team A is -220 then Team B is +190 I have racked my brain trying to figure out how they are calculated. Let me know if you would like further clarification. |

The most likely thing is that they are literally looked from a table, and that generating them "on the fly" wouldn't help you, because you wouldn't have the traditional rounding or "adjustments" that were made. If you make such a table, you can use the vlookup function in excel to lookup the answer for you. That said, I'm fairly certain your numbers are slightly off or came from different sources, because several fairly simple and sensible answers explain 2/3 of them. Try to post more (I'd say 10) and make sure they're from the same source, or at least mark the source. |
