Hello josiemae-ga,

Leader-ga has provided part of the answer, and I'll fill in the rest
by giving you a couple of maps.

Specifically, here is a map from Gardner to the intersection of Chico
Rd & Dance Hall HI in Pray, MT, as well as a map just of that
intersection:

"From: Gardiner, MT, US, To: Chico Rd & Dance Hall HI, Pray, MT 59065
US"
MapQuest
http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.adp?go=1&do=nw&2n=Park&1n=Park&ct=NA&1y=US&1a=&1p=&1c=Gardiner&1s=MT&1z=&1ah=&2y=US&2a=Chico+and+Dance+Hall&2p=&2c=Pray&2s=MT&2z=&2ah=&lr=2&x=97&y=13

"Chico Rd & Dance Hall HI, Pray, MT 59065, US"
MapQuest
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?addtohistory=&country=US&address=Chico+and+Dance+Hall&city=Pray&state=MT&zipcode=&historyid=&submit.x=36&submit.y=13

You can see Chico Hot Springs marked on these maps. To get there from
the intersection of Chico Rd and Dance Hall HI, you would continue
down Chico Rd several hundred feet and then turn left, following the
creek. (Of course, there might be a fence or some other obstacle,
since the springs are apparently part of the resort.)

The two answers that I got do not fit together. This is what I got
from you.
The parts of one direction that do not fit with the other are in
parenthesis.
Directions: From Gardiner, drive NW on Hwy 89 for about 18-20 miles
(although part of the directions say 30.76 miles). (One direction says
turn right onto Murphy Lane and go 1.17 miles.)(Then it says turn left
onto East River Road, MT 540 and go .76) Turn right onto East River
Road (rt 540). After 12 miles, turn (which direction?) onto Chico
Road. The hot spring is just a few miles (perhaps 1.54 miles) on the
right past the intersection of Chico Road and Dance Hall HI. Continue
down Chico Road several hundred feet and then turn left, following the
creek. (Other direction says turn right and go .02 miles.) The address
is #1 Chico Road, Pray, MT.
It could be that the springs is now part of Chico Hot Springs Resort
and if that is true there might be a fence which would bar using it
without permission.

Please clarify the places where the 2 sets of directions do not match.

thanks, josiemae

Leader-ga's comment is not really part of the answer -- it just helped
me to find the answer.

I would not suggest that you combine the directions given by leader-ga
with the directions in my answer, which come from Mapquest.

If you follow just the Mapquest directions -- and the map included on
that page -- you will get to the intersection of Chico Rd & Dance Hall
HI. From there, you can see on the map how far it is to Chico Hot
Springs, and the directions to take.

This may help:

Start out going Northwest on US-89. After approx. 18-20 miles, turn
right onto East River Road (rt 540). After 12 miles, turn onto chico
road. The hot spring is just a few miles on the right at the
intersection of chico road and Dance Hall HI. The address is #1 Chico
Road.
