To properly answer the question I would need to know what TLDs (top
level domains/the characters after the last dot of the complete domain
name) you are talking about.
I'm guessing you are referring to the most common generic TLDs (there
are also country-specific TLDs) .com and .net. The two choices you
have is then to go to an accredited ICANN registrar, or becoming one
yourself. If you the amount of domains planned to register is not more
than a few hundred, the first is certainly the most economic.
The ICANN accredited registrars also pays a few bucks per domain and
year, but less than what you will pay. There are certain of those who
have targetted bulk registrations and resellers by selling out
'reseller accounts' to clients. You will get the very best price by:
1) Getting a reseller account through another reseller that has put in
a big deposit, or, 2)putting in a big deposit yourself
Acting by the above you can get down to about USD 6-7 per domain and
year in the .net and .com TLDs.
If you will settle for another, country specific, TLD the only one
free one I know about is .tk (for the country Tokelau). They do
however charge you if you want full DNS services for the domain (even
if you use your own nameservers). |
