Dear Abby,
A "critical analysis" is "an appraisal based on careful analytical
evaluation" (Dictionary.com,
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=critical+analysis&r=67).
In nursing, it means you have to apply critical thinking when
reviewing a research given to you - or more than one - in order to
analyse and evaluate its validity.
Instructions are provided here:
http://nursing.byu.edu/capstoneSyllabus/Critical%20Analysis%20Paper1.doc
And an example for an essay applying critical analysis is :
Emily Pijl Zieber "Critical Analysis - On Healing, Wholeness, and the
Haelan Effect, by Janet F. Quinn" (For Nursing 251, Langara College,
July 24, 1997)
http://www.langara.bc.ca/vnc/em.htm
I hope that helped. My search was:
"critical analysis" nursing

I think that answered your question. If you need further
clarifications on this answer, please let me know before you rate/tip
it. |
